Availability
oss-browser is currently a development preview. Check the project's GitHub Releases for published packages and their release notes. Installer publication, production signing and the documentation site's public deployment have not yet been verified. If no suitable package is available, use the source instructions below.
The packaging workflow targets the following platforms. This table describes intended packages, not a claim that they are available or fully tested.
| Platform | Package target | Verification status |
|---|---|---|
| macOS | Universal .dmg (Apple silicon and Intel) | Native startup/capture checked on arm64; remaining native integrations, signing and notarization pending |
| Windows | x64 installer .exe | Desktop acceptance and production signing pending |
| Linux | x64 .deb and .tar.gz | GTK 3 required; desktop acceptance pending |
Run the development preview
Install Go 1.27.2+ and Git. On Linux, also install GTK 3 development dependencies. MyGo 0.4.8 is pinned in the repository; Node.js and pnpm are not required for the app.
git clone https://github.com/ntnyq/oss-browser.git
cd oss-browser
go mod download
make runThe app opens on the connection screen. Follow Quick start to connect to a test bucket. To make a local package, run make build; output goes to build/. Local macOS builds use an ad hoc signature. See Development for toolchain checks.
Updates
Check release notes before replacing a build. Development builds offer manual release downloads. Verified in-app installation needs a publisher key and signed update feed, which are not configured for production yet. A downloaded update still requires confirmation before installation.
